And Here's to YOU Mrs. Rasmussen!

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Mr. and Mrs. Ron Rasmussen! Yep, that's right, that's my mom! and her new husband Ron. They got married this last Saturday in Grants Pass Oregon, where they will be living. It's so nice to see her happy and smiling! I'm sad I didn't get to go, (another bummer about being pregnant!) but it's exciting to see them starting their new adventure together! Congratulations mom!!!!!!

Winner of the Most Boring Blog on the Planet

So, I still don't have a camera, which means I have no fun pictures to post, which is the funnest part about a blog. And I hate being the guy who doesn't update the blog. So if anyone out there has any current pictures that involve me or anyone in my family, please send them to me so i can post something. MY BLOG IS BORING!!

!! TOO MUCH TOO SOON !!

Monday I told Mercedes that if Tuesday was a nice day (i.e. no wind) and warm enough, we would go to the pool. So yesterday, she looked out the window and what did she see? NO WIND! (at least until about 2:00.) So we called up her "BEST COUSIN", Jackie, and the 3 of us headed to the pool. Jackie and I were happy enough just to sit and enjoy the rays, but Mercedes was the brave one to get in. She finally convinced me to get my feet in. (that didn't last long. It felt like an iceberg had melted in there.) One hour later we were ready to go home. After a nice warm shower, I looked in the mirror and YOWZAZ! I was looking at a lobster. It might be a few days til we get back to the pool.

~*The Bite Heard Round the World*~

Sunday's are a day of rest. Rest from the trials of the world, rest from the day to day chores. And an opportunity to feel the peace of the Lord. But this Sunday was a little different.

However after Sunday dinner Sadie was playing with Maddy the dog at Aunt Wendy's house. I heard the dog growl and then I heard THE SCREAM!! You never want to hear that scream. I grabbed her and saw the blood dripping off her face . . . terrified and scared, I let a few explicits escape my mouth (to which I apologize Wendy, I know you would NEVER want anything to happen to Mercedes) and took her outside to assess the damage. One tooth went all the way through to the inside of her mouth and the other went about half way. After a trip to Goyo (our fix all doctor) who told us that she would be just fine with an antibiotic to prevent any infections and some Motrin to let down the swelling, we're all safe at home. Much calmer, but a little emotionally exhausted. She's going to be just fine.

Is There Room For the Both of Them in the World?!

~True Story~ the other day, Mercedes and I drove into the driveway and saw some workmen working in the yard. She says, "mama, what are all those workmen doing?" reply, "they're planting trees, Sadie." she says, "well, who's in charge of watching them?" I say, "no one right now honey." she says, "mama, I better sit out here and watch them so they don't stop working."

And so she did. She sat out there for a good 20-30 minutes, making sure they didn't stop. So I ask you, Is there room for both Rusty and Mercedes in this world?!!

Meet Otis and Minnie!!

Last Monday was Mercedes' birthday. She received 2 puppies for the special occasion. We got them from Jeff and Michelle's Sharpei collection. I got this picture from Melina's Facebook (I hope you don't mind, Melina) because I can't find my camera charger to take new pictures of the 2 that we got. But in any case, we LOVE our new babies.
